The Tin
Finished!
Everyone has seen the Altoids Tin mods, here I bring you somthing completely different! Well not really, this is a mod to a Starbuck's Highly, Overpriced Chewing Gum Tin. I do like the smaller form factor of these tins. Using a few easily obtainable parts you can make your own USB +5 volt power supply to charge small items such as a cell phone.

I make no guarentees that this will not screw up your components or that it will not void your warrenties, but if it wasn't just a little dangerous it wouldn't be any fun.
The Parts List:

1 Highly Overpriced Starbuck's Gum Tin or Equal - ($1.95 + Tax! Bah!)
1 9v Battery
1 9v Battery Snap -(4 for $1 at allelectronics.com)
1 LM7805 Linear Voltage Regulator - ($.50 at allelectronics.com)
1 1000uF Capacitor
1 Female USB Connector

The Parts

All of these parts are available from most electronics stores, I like Allelectronics.com. All of these parts, however I salvaged from old projects and components. The chewing gum I chewed, and did I mention that I paid way too much for it?
